Scripture | Jude 1:25
“To the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore ! Amen.”
What a precious time to acknowledge and focus on the authority and glory of the Lord. During this time of fasting, sacrifice, and commitment, I am deliberate in glorifying and honoring God. As I focus and fast during this designated season, I utter in a whisper and also loudly proclaim that God is to be glorified – yes, To God Be the Glory.
Instead of requesting a blessing, instead of asking God to give me material things, I take this period of fasting to simply state (overtly and covertly) throughout the day, evening, and night – “To God Be The Glory”. Instead of asking God to give me this – give me that – give me, give me, give me – or in some way asking God to advance me …..or pleading with God to bless me once again, I dedicate myself to simply and yet profoundly worship and glorify His name — To God Be The Glory.
I declare that God is to be glorified for His authority and for who He is —
Because of God’s Authority – God’s Power, we can call on the Name of Jesus Christ – and for this – To God Be The Glory
Because of God’s Authority – God’s Power, we can talk to Jesus Christ and know that He hears us – and for this – To God Be The Glory
Because of God’s Authority – God’s Power, we have the right of salvation through Jesus Christ
Because of God’s Authority – God’s Power, we have the opportunity to serve Him and serve His people – and for this — To God Be the Glory
Because of God’s Authority and Power, we acknowledge Jesus Christ as our Keeper, Sustainer, Provider, Deliverer, Healer, Protector, and Savior – and for this — To God Be ALL Glory
As I focus, fast and reflect on God’s Glory though my meditation, I seek to remain constant in glorying God for what He has done for me, for family, loved ones and beyond. In my period of fasting, it is in thankfulness that I focus on God’s Glory and earnestly express my gratitude.
I commit to engage in dedicated moments of adoration of God’s love, God’s grace, God’s mercy, and God’s authority. Also, in my focus and fasting this week, I hum lyrics of a beautiful song – “To God Be The Glory – To God Be The Glory – To God Be The Glory For The things He Has Done” … and oooohhhhh yes, He has done miraculous and marvelous things in the wonder of His Holy Word and through His gift of love – Jesus at the Cross of Calvary.
I desperately want the words – “God” and “Glory” to capture my thoughts …… and ultimately my actions throughout the day – “To God Be The Glory”. For after all, God is worthy to be glorified and worthy of my submission, sacrifice, and my surrender unto Him.
Therefore, and as always – “To God Be The Glory” – “To God Be The Glory”- “To God Be The Glory”.
Dear God, I honor, praise and worship You Lord — for You are my Savior. During my time of focus and fasting, I seek to more readily recognize Your blessings – Your mercy – Your grace – and yes, Your Glory. I also seek to draw closer to You in humble adoration of Your authority and power through the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross. To You, God, the only wise God be glory, majesty, power and authority. To You, God be the Glory. Amen.
